The bicigrino website and the services that derive from it have been articulated from the point of view of my personal experience having done the Camino on 8 occasions. Everything I have learned on the Camino is now transferred here to the assembly and provision of the bicycles that are rented.

The bicycle rental service of the bicigrino website is aimed at facilitating the way for those who decide to do it by bicycle and not being able or not wanting to use their own, decide to rent a bicycle as a better option.

Renting a bike through this website you are not simply renting a bike to do the Camino de Santiago. The bicycles are modified and adapted to the peculiar needs of cyclotourism and especially the Camino de Santiago, among other details are all equipped with semi-automatic pedals in order to adapt to the needs of the largest number of users (those who prefer to go with cleats and those who do not). All have handlebar extensions to ensure a correct ergonomic position of the hands during long days of pedaling. Gel covers are provided for the saddle to prevent chafing, and many other peculiarities that take care to the last detail that what is rented more than meets the expectations of those who with all the enthusiasm in the world is launched to travel the paths of the Camino de Santiago.

Here is a step-by-step video tutorial on how to reserve a Mountain Bike or e-Bike from our official bicigrino.com website.

Around the bike rental there is a whole network of added services that will give you extra peace of mind on route. The rental service is supported by the network of BICIGREEN hotels and hostels. BICIGGRINOS. There is also a wide network of mechanical workshops along the route to give you coverage at all times. You will only have to worry about going to the agreed point for the collection of the bike, make your way and then after completing the challenge take the bike to the agreed point for delivery.

The rental price includes transportation to any point that you propose to start the route from any of its routes (the French Way, the Portuguese Way, the Via de la Plata, the Northern Way, the Primitive Way) and the pick-up at any place of the Spanish geography that you decide to finish the route (you must arrange with a bicycle store the packing of the bicycle, since without the bicycle being packed, it will not be possible to pick it up). You can even rent a bike if you wish to do any multi-day cycling route you can think of.

For those who doubt whether or not to transport their own bicycle to the road and have to equip their bicycle with the necessary accessories, luggage rack, saddlebags…, if they also have double suspension bicycles that require more complex systems and higher price to attach the luggage…, for this type of users, simply adding the costs of the acquisition of this material and the transport of the bicycle they will soon come to the conclusion that renting is much more economical and is much more comfortable than carrying your own bike. From an approximate amount of 310 euros you can do the whole route with a fully equipped bicycle and with the transport costs included in the price.

Here you can see a wonderful testimony of a customer who rented one of our bikes (Thanks Luis Fidanza, we will take care of Genoveva).

Perhaps it was love at first sight. When I met her that afternoon at the end of May, near the French border, I thought she was beautiful.

It was very easy to realize that it would also be her first time. Without a doubt, it was exactly what I needed to be able to walk the more than eight hundred kilometers to Santiago de Compostela.

With Genoveva, that’s her name, we left very early on a foggy Sunday, under a cold and persistent drizzle. Let’s say we started off badly, but very excited about what was to come. Little by little I realized first, my clumsiness in dealing with her and then how she was making me understand what and how she wanted me to do things, to let’s say… to get along better.

We had a lot of fun throughout the days and kilometers through indescribable landscapes, among olive groves and vineyards, endless fields of wheat and poppies along wooded roads that were always lost behind hills and mountains because there is no horizon there. We passed through villages and towns, farmhouses and corrals that smelled of manure. Brambles, flowers and iguanas accompanied us on every imaginable ground. Sometimes at the speed of sparrows, sometimes at the speed of butterflies and on some climbs almost like snails. Genoveva and I followed each of the infinite arrows and signs, as many as stars. Continuously to the west, in the morning her shadow in front, in the afternoon my shadow behind. Always together we also had a hard time, but it didn’t last long.

We learned from our gestures and silences, as when she respectfully stayed at the entrance of the cemetery, where I arrived to close a circle of more than one hundred and twenty years. Sometimes when we went down endless slopes, she gave me to understand that she could do more, that she was capable of going down faster, and I did not always, almost never, pay attention to her. I thought that by taking care of me, I would also take care of her. After a few days I could already say that we were right for each other. Moreover, I could not understand the road without her and I even thought of bringing her with me at the end, when I returned to Argentina.

When we arrived at the Obradoiro square we were greeted by the sound of bagpipes and drums. In front of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela I lifted her in my arms, it was all I could do with the little strength I had left. But we continued anyway, if there was more road together we would go to the end, where the Romans said the earth ended. The road ends in Finisterre, in front of the sea, simply because there is nothing more than a rocky tongue that enters the Atlantic Ocean and only leaves a path to retrace. From afar I witnessed the rite, the purification of burning the clothes of the path of the stars. Again I thought about the end, what to do with Genoveva? Leave her or bring her with me? I understood that I had finished my path, but she would still be there for a long time, with other people who better or worse than me would be her company. Somehow she was made for this and her life would always be one of trails, roots, mud, rocks, stones, sidewalks, dust and asphalt. I took all the weight off her, with my hands I washed her slowly so she would look as beautiful as when I first met her. I caressed her, kissed her, left her alone and without looking back I left.

I will never, ever forget you Genoveva, Spezialized Crave Comp. 29″ MTB.

See you always. Buen Camino!
