Until now, our basic rental covered elementary contingencies, but we wanted to go a step further to offer you absolute peace of mind.
How is it activated in case of failure?
- Contact us: Send us a WhatsApp message to the support number we will provide.
- Inform: Include your booking ID, your exact location (via a Google Maps link) and send photos or videos of the problem so we can diagnose it.
- Wait for instructions: We’ll tell you which nearby workshop to go to or, if the bike can’t roll, we’ll activate the cab service.

Am I unprotected if I have only rented the bicycle?
If I have contracted my bike rental service with bicigrino without having added this service, am I unprotected?
The answer is no, the basic rental offers you the basic guarantees of a bike rental service, we will help you via whatassap in case of any contingency with recommendations on the best solution, but the expenses will not be covered.
Is it a theft insurance ?
It is not theft insurance. Under normal circumstances and if you follow the most elementary rules of common sense and security, your bicycle should not be stolen.
Remember that we do not accept the use of apartments and AirbBNB type establishments because they do not have suitable places to store bicycles.
If you have the most elementary security measures and always keep your bicycle in reliable places and do not lose sight of it during the route, it is very unlikely that it will be stolen.
Should this still happen, we will ask you to file a report with the police authorities.
So I confirm that this insurance does not cover theft.
Is it an accident or health insurance?
It is not.
It is an insurance that covers the contingencies of the rented sports equipment and the possible inconveniences of a mechanical failure.
This insurance is designed solely and exclusively to guarantee the user the continuity of his trip in case of any mechanical contingency that may occur during the journey and use of our bicycles and equipment supplied.
Can I take out insurance if I bring my own bicycle?
It is not possible, this insurance is exclusive and is designed only for Bicigrino customers who have hired rental bikes and equipment from our company. The insurance will not be applicable for material that is not owned by Bicigrino.SL.
are there any exceptions?
Those who have contracted this insurance will have absolute priority to solve their problem.
The bicigrino team will analyze the situation of the problem and the place where the incident occurred.
However, there are circumstances that may be beyond our control, such as public holidays, for example, when bike shops may be closed and this may not allow immediate action to be taken.
In any case, absolute priority will be given to solving the problem and we will be able to act with other solutions that do not involve repairing the bicycle or compensating for the inconvenience caused.
Total Transparency: What it does NOT include
- Breakage due to misuse: Breakdowns resulting from misuse, negligence, reckless riding or unauthorized modifications to the bicycle are never covered.
- Tourist Logistics: The cab included is for the sole purpose of taking you to the nearest workshop. It does not cover tourist transfers, trips to the hotel or trips to “skip” stages of the Camino.
- Theft or Loss: This is not an anti-theft insurance. If you suffer an attempted theft or theft of the bicycle, it is mandatory to file a police report and send it to us the same day.

What are the advantages over the basic service?
If you decide to take out this extra service, you will transform the way you deal with unforeseen events on the road thanks to these outstanding coverages:
Cab Included (Mobility Guaranteed): If you suffer a breakdown and your bike can not continue, you will not have to look for your life or pay out of pocket. We take care of the cab transfer for the rider and the bike to the nearest repair shop.
Workshop repair coverage: Forget about negotiating prices in unknown workshops. Bicigrino assumes the payment of the invoice in the workshop (labor and spare parts) as long as the incident is covered and authorized by us.
Unlike the basic service, this includes the repair of punctures and chain breaks.
Fast Replacement Guarantee: If the breakdown is serious, the repair is not feasible within a reasonable time or the bike becomes inoperative, we will send you a replacement bike (of equivalent or superior range) within a target period of 24 to 48 working hours.
Immediate Diagnosis and Support: In case of any incident, our team assists you via WhatsApp or by phone to assess the situation remotely, locate the nearest workshop and coordinate directly with the local mechanic.
