Comforts

The yellow arrows are the guide and Santiago de Compostela, the goal. The reasons, each person knows their own. Every day, an increasing number of people undertake the Camino for spiritual or vital reasons. They do it from afar or nearby places, ie in countless languages, on foot, by bicycle, alone or in company. They all become pilgrims and certainly, it changes the life of the vast majority of them.

As Nacho Najera. In 2004, from Roncesvalles, he undertook its first Camino with his father. A few kilometers from Logroño, at Los Arcos, a knee injury forced him to leave and go through surgery. After the operation, its commitment increased and he directed his steps with his eyes fixed on Santiago. The French Way, Via de la Plata, the Northern Way … From his city of residence, Logroño, and also from Seville, Astorga, Caceres, Irun … Nine Caminos behind his back fed a dream: to build a hostel which was nice, different, stylish and open wide.

After time and much effort this dream has been fulfilled. His name is Check In Rioja (C / Los Banos, 2. Logroño. Tel +34 941 27 23 29. Mail: checkinrioja@gmail.com) and it is located in the historic center, particularly within walking distance of the yellow arrows, which after crossing the stone bridge go by the Church of Santiago, the Ruavieja, the park of La Grajera … The next stage will be Nájera, but first you must rest.

Thus, in the old Jewish quarter, a building that once, in 1934, was a dance hall and then a cabinet, has been converted into a functional establishment decorated with all amenities to make your stay a pleasant one. Check In Rioja has 30 beds, a bathroom and four toilets, one of them disabled-accessible. Additionally, it has comfortable and spacious common areas: living room and kitchen-office where you can chat, share the experiences of that day and, above all, regain strength for the next day.

For those doing their particular pilgrim journey on two wheels, there is a space where bicycles also ‘rest’ safely. Not to mention, free WiFi and most importantly, a friendly and natural treatment. And the thing is that Nacho Najera, a technical architect now converted into a hostel host, wants his home to be the home of everybody.
