The Casa Grande de Fuentemayor is an inimitable, charming 18th-century country house, surrounded by extensive idyllic gardens and centuries-old trees. A true hidden gem in inland Galicia, just a few metres from the Camino de Santiago (Vía de la Plata).

The Casa Grande de Fuentemayor belongs to the highest category of Galician Rural Tourism (Group A), which includes pazos, castles, monasteries, manor houses and rectory houses recognised for their unique architectural value. We invite you to discover our excellent cuisine, to enjoy nature on the hiking trails and to relax in one of our rooms with a hydromassage bathtub.

We have a large heated wooden pergola overlooking the garden, the pools and the Trasdeza Valley. Comfortable rooms decorated with carefully restored original features and period furniture.

The Casa Grande de Fuentemayor has two outdoor pools to enjoy a well-deserved swim after a long stage of the Camino. We are less than 30 minutes from Santiago de Compostela (AP-53). The building has 900 m² built in 1708 by the priest Don José de Cobas and has been completely restored by the 7th owning generation. Its magnificent materials (granite, oak and chestnut) are its true hallmark, giving it a typically Galician architectural style.

We arrange visits to the most picturesque and touristic sites in the region: Fervenzas da Toxa (the highest waterfalls in Galicia and Spain), the 12th-century Romanesque Monastery of San Lorenzo de Carboeiro and the Pazo de Oca. Visit time: approximately 2.5 hours (check availability).
