La Franca Campsite (La Franca)

A cosy campsite with various accommodation options ranging from camping to a stay in simple wooden cabins or in fully equipped bungalows.

Set right on the Camino del Norte at the eastern end of Asturias, just 4 kilometres from the town of Colombres, it is an ideal place to finish a stage, recover your strength and start the route through Asturian lands.

It is located on the beach of La Franca itself, reached via the turn-off at kilometre 286 of the N-634. The campsite was refurbished last year, so it has practically new and comfortable facilities.

All the campsite pitches are grass and have plenty of shade. They all have the option of an electrical connection and a water supply.

The cabins sleep 2 to 4 (bunk beds) and have beds with mattresses, a wardrobe, a bedside table, a lamp, a power socket and a clothes line. Outside, next to the cabins, there is a suitable space to leave the bicycles.

The bungalows come in different types and sizes (4 to 6 people) and all have an equipped kitchen, a bathroom with shower, TV and a porch or terrace with outdoor furniture.

The campsite also has a renovated sanitary block with hot-water showers, laundry, café and restaurant, a small supermarket, a social club, a swimming pool and a children’s playground.

La Franca beach, as well as being the easternmost in Asturias, is one of the most beautiful, broad and accessible on the Cantabrian Coast, worthy of the European Union’s Blue Flag for quality.
