The Serenata Hostel sets a new quality standard for hostels. Come and try the quality of a hotel at hostel prices! Dating from the early 20th century, the building where the hostel is housed was the Bissaya Barreto Maternity Institute and later the Coimbra Music Conservatory. It has since been completely restored and is ready for you. We couldn’t have a better mix: Life and Music! Meet people from all over the world by joining our social meals and our pub crawl. We are located in the heart of Coimbra, in the Largo da Sé Velha (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). We are close to all the city’s attractions. Our location lets guests explore the whole city without using public transport. We are 5 to 10 minutes from the train and bus stations, one minute from the University of Coimbra (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and literally next to Coimbra’s biggest historic attraction, the Old Cathedral (Sé Velha). You can wake up, open the window and gaze at this magnificent monument! We have different types of rooms to choose from: shared dormitories, double rooms, twin rooms and suites. Our buffet breakfast is served in our dining room. Save money by cooking some tapas in our equipped kitchen. We have a bar and two common lounges with plasma TV, board games and sofas.
