The pilgrims’ hostel is located inside the monastery, in what were once the old stables. The facilities are humble, practical and functional, as befits a monastic place where, until very recently, only “the donation” was charged.

Sleeping here, just half a day from Santiago de Compostela and after having walked the Camino, is a gift for the senses and the soul. An opportunity not to be missed.

At the monastery of Sobrado you can have unique experiences strolling through its cloisters, letting yourself be carried away by its naves and admiring its walls and rooms full of stones that brim with feeling and history.

You can attend the monks’ services, whose chanting will transport you to another dimension. Without doubt an experience you should not miss.

The Monastery of Santa María de Sobrado dos Monxes (“of the Monks”) is one of the main monasteries of medieval origin in the province of A Coruña and in all of Galicia, although today, after the reforms of the 16th to 18th centuries, it is one of the main monuments of Galician Baroque. It was declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument.

Today, the Monastery of Santa María de Sobrado dos Monxes is home to Benedictine monks. Inside the monastery your steps will echo and you can freely visit its rooms — a magical place, without doubt.
