Biskarret

Biskarret is historically linked to Camino de Santiago, which was an obligatory stopping point for walkers, especially until the appearance of the hostelry of Roncesvalles. There was also a hospital for pilgrims, which remains are still preserved. Amongst its architecture, the parish church of San Pedro stands out, belonging to the proto-Gothic style of the early thirteenth century. Perched on a hill 790 meters above sea level, it offers a panoramic view of Biskarret.

Ruta cicloturista en bicicleta de montaña con alforjas que recorre el Camino de Santiago Francés desde Roncesvalles a Santiago.

Aunque este recorrido es muy frecuentado y posiblemente ya esté colgado en esta web mi propuesta es recorrerlo en su totalidad con la bicicleta de montaña por la señalización para caminantes. Es una opción que endurece el recorrido pero que añade más alicientes que las múltiples variantes que se suelen realizar por ciclistas.

En algunos momentos nos tendremos que bajar de la bici y "empujar" pero hay tramos que por su belleza merecen la pena. Muy recomendables: la bajada de la Cruz de Hierro, la subida al O Cebreiro y la bajada del puerto del Poio hasta Triacastela
