  We are in the building of the bus station, with which we share space and from which you can reach or move comfortably to any point of Spain and, in the same street of one of the most beautiful museums of our city: the Museum of Archeology and Fine Arts of Burgos. Our extraordinary location will allow you to walk to most of the monuments of Burgos. We are only 5 minutes from the cathedral, 5 minutes from the Museum of Human Evolution and only 20 minutes from the Monastery of the Royal Strikes. A few meters away there is the taxi stand and the parking for the disabled. In Hostel Burgos you will find everything for your enjoyment!

Around

Castildelgado is a municipality belonging to Burgos lands, very close to the Rioja. It offers a very diverse landscape, such that this area is known as the "Riojilla burgalesa". If you stay in Castildelgado, do not forget to visit the Church of San Pedro, late Gothic style, and the Hermitage of Santa Maria del Campo. You can also admire the arch, in the middle of Calle Mayor, a vestige of the Palace of the Counts of Berberana.

The church of Santiago is located 300 meters away from our inn, surrounded by hórreos (grain storage buildings). This church was built in the late XIIth century, with multiple reforms.

Santa Lucía chapel, built in the late XIIIth and XIVth centuries. It celebrates the popular Easter festival on Easter Monday.

Ponte Olveira, village and bridge near the river Xallas, in which you are able to observe the marvellous river scenery. In this locality took place a battle against the napoleon armies in the year 1809, during the Napoleonic invasion in the Iberian Peninsula.

Tourist hostel San Jose was opened in the year 2010, by the brothers Vieito Fuentes, with the intention to give rest to the Pilgrims performing the route from Santiago to Finisterrre / Muxia or vice versa. It is also suitable for tourists who wish to spend some relaxing days near the Galician coast, watching and enjoying landscapes, beaches, rials, rivers, monuments, gastronomy, etc.

This hostel is especially recommended for bicigrinos stopping here because the next day you will only have 40 kms to Santiago as a final step, allowing us to reach Santiago early to pick up the Compostela and enjoy our deserved end of Camino.

Our story begins in 1991. Anita and Domingo (my parents), worked at the summer terrace El Curtidero, at which reaches their ears the first news of the Camino from the voice of a pilgrim from Belgium. They began to satisfy their curiosity by asking questions and from there began to emerge the first hopes of a project, a way of life, a hostel to serve the pilgrims.

Later in the year 1999 they registered 6 pilgrims, 16 in 2000 and 120 in 2001. The construction of the hostel dates back to 2002, but the opening came later. Camino de Santiago associations in different parts of Spain with Father Blas of Fuenterroble Salvatierra (Salamanca) organized a nice arriera march for the event. Casa Anita is the first hostel for pilgrims in the province of Zamora, and since its opening we work in a constant way to make our guests stay as pleasant as possible, trying to renew ourselves, improving our facilities and providing all the necessary information as for Camino de Santiago, services, attractions, etc.
