Casa da Balea or the “Whale´s Home” is a charming little Rustic Guesthouse in the historic centre of Corcubión, a fishing village with a historical-artistic complex. As the name suggests, it is the first theme accommodation in Spain dedicated to the world of whales.
The Way of Saint James passes right in front of our main door leading thousands of pilgrims each year towards Fisterra.
We have a facade with terraces and a garden that runs onto the seaside promenade. The house offers splendid views over the old quarter, the port and the inlet of Corcubión together with the mythic Mount Pindo. The beach of Quenxe is only a ten-minute walk from us.
The building, which is a traditional Galician stone house with open and windowed balconies, is more than a hundred years old and has been renovated with care. You will be surprised at seeing both the carefully chosen decoration that reflects our marine and whale theme and our rooms that are all decorated in a different style boasting works of art and handicrafts.
Besides Spanish and Galician, we speak English, Italian, Hungarian and Portuguese. We offer a friendly, family environment with personalized attention and as we are professionals in the world of travel and tourist publications, we can provide you with information on the area so that you could make the most of your stay at this End of the World.
We are mostly concerned about the protection of nature and this is shown by our use of green energy sources, recycling and the use of products from our own garden.

Surroundings
Muxia is surrounded by excellent beaches that stand out for the quality of its water, the good location and the fine and white sand. Their large number of beaches allows us to choose between those with a smoother or wilder sea, such as Lourido beach or Nemiña; or those with softer water inside the estuary like in A Barreira, Lago, Muíños, Espiñeirido or A Cruz. But in the muxian coast we also have unknown small bays just as the O Coto, As Raias, Vilaverde, Borreiros, Arliña or Arnela.
We have beaches that are protected from the north-east wind, which most strikes in summer time, like A Barreira, Lago, Arliña or Nemiña, facing south or west. In this last one the waves allow us to go surfing. If you do not have means of transportation, you can approach to the nearest beach to the village center on foot like O Espiñeirido, A Cross, Arliña or Lourido.

Casa Goas pension-restaurant is a family business where you can eat, sleep and have a good time chatting in a friendly environment, currently run as a third generation. Our journey began in 1944.
The hotel has been renovated recently, with modern and functional facilities. After the long climb from the port of Mondoñedo here's a very logical end of stage to combine our arrival in Santiago stopping before at the monastery of Sobrado dos Monxes.
A well-deserved rest after a tough stage.

At Casa Goas Pension-restaurant you will find traditional cuisine with the recipes of our founders that will make you remember Grandma's dishes.
In Casa Goas cafeteria you can have breakfast, eat our sandwiches, or drink beer or wine.
In our pension Gonzalo Moure took inspiration to write the novel The yawn of the puma, a novel whose plot is based on a pilgrim in Camino de Santiago.
At Casa Goas there are a kind of clients for who we have grat admiration: pilgrims of the Northern Way of Camino de Santiago.
