The Hostel Pequeño Potala opened to serve the pilgrims in 1999, with the idea of offering a rest to the pilgrims who decide to start climbing the feared Cebreiro on the morning, comforted after having rested and replenished their forces in this family house converted into a hostel, in which the most important things are comfort and good food.
Located at the right distance so that when the ascent begins, the legs have already pedaled the necessary kilometers and the body has already acquired that predisposition that will transform the tough climb into a beautiful promenade.

Surroundings
It is believed to be the ancient Roman town of Autharis. Right where the present chapel of San Froilan is, there is a small cave which is said to be where the Holy retired as a hermit, coming from Lugo before being appointed Bishop of Leon.
The legend tells that rabbits gnawed a part of San Froilan prayer books and consequently mice disappeared from this area because of the curse of the Saint.
During the Civil War a part of the church of San Juan Bautista was burnt.

A small roadside restaurant which history goes back to the years that the National road VI passed by its door, with a huge traffic of travelers and a great activity of meals and breakfast.
Their owners reinvent themselves and have remodeled that little road guesthouse into a pilgrim hostel where they continue offering their hospitality and meals as they had always done with travelers. Before on four wheels and now for travelers, bicigrinos and pilgrims.
Family atmosphere, eatery, bar and a place to stop before the O'Cebreiro tough climbs.

Surroundings
The first time this town appears in written documentary is in the ninth century, because a defensive line formed by fortress towers of the primitive Castilla was passing through the village. At that time this village was known as Forniellos meaning small ovens, in which tiles were baked.
Over the years up to three hospitals were built: San Lázaro, meant for lepers and pilgrims; the Holy Spirit, which was created for pilgrims and another one. Today they are all gone.
In 1936 some Visigoth tombs were found, which had pretty pottery and other valuable metals. On the other hand, a good place to visit is the monument of the Parish Church, built in the town square, which is now completely renovated.

The yellow arrows are the guide and Santiago de Compostela, the goal. The reasons, each person knows their own. Every day, an increasing number of people undertake the Camino for spiritual or vital reasons. They do it from afar or nearby places, ie in countless languages, on foot, by bicycle, alone or in company. They all become pilgrims and certainly, it changes the life of the vast majority of them.
As Nacho Najera. In 2004, from Roncesvalles, he undertook its first Camino with his father. A few kilometers from Logroño, at Los Arcos, a knee injury forced him to leave and go through surgery. After the operation, its commitment increased and he directed his steps with his eyes fixed on Santiago. The French Way, Via de la Plata, the Northern Way ... From his city of residence, Logroño, and also from Seville, Astorga, Caceres, Irun ... Nine Caminos behind his back fed a dream: to build a hostel which was nice, different, stylish and open wide.
After time and much effort this dream has been fulfilled. His name is Check In Rioja (C / Los Banos, 2. Logroño. Tel +34 941 27 23 29. Mail: checkinrioja@gmail.com) and it is located in the historic center, particularly within walking distance of the yellow arrows, which after crossing the stone bridge go by the Church of Santiago, the Ruavieja, the park of La Grajera ... The next stage will be Nájera, but first you must rest.
Thus, in the old Jewish quarter, a building that once, in 1934, was a dance hall and then a cabinet, has been converted into a functional establishment decorated with all amenities to make your stay a pleasant one. Check In Rioja has 30 beds, a bathroom and four toilets, one of them disabled-accessible. Additionally, it has comfortable and spacious common areas: living room and kitchen-office where you can chat, share the experiences of that day and, above all, regain strength for the next day.
For those doing their particular pilgrim journey on two wheels, there is a space where bicycles also 'rest' safely. Not to mention, free WiFi and most importantly, a friendly and natural treatment. And the thing is that Nacho Najera, a technical architect now converted into a hostel host, wants his home to be the home of everybody.

The hostel has a large, bright room that adapts to different functions and which is exclusive to the lodgers.
Surroundings
Villava-Atarrabia is surely the town of Iruñerria with more development to The City. With a privileged environment because of the crossing of its 3 Caminos at the mouth of Ultzama river to Arga river, Villava-Atarrabia was a preferred resting place for the wealthy people of Pamplona 100 years ago; and thus witness the main avenue leading into the village, with its belle epoque chalets and its special Besta-Jira.
Villava- Atarrabia was meant to live, to rest. And the people there are those who interpret it better. Villaveses can go every day to work in Pamplona or its industrial belt, but they live in their village. Not surprisingly Villava-Atarrabia has developed an important staff letter of health, educational, social, cultural and sporting services to reach a widely recognized quality life.
The hostel of Villava-Atarrabia is part of that staff letter, and is designed for hostellers and the pilgrim; youth hostel and families; groups and sports teams. For those who devote the day to explore, discover, enjoy Pamplona-Iruña and its region, and the night to rest. It is a first class hostel with first class facilities.
